Solving Non-Linear Equations System using Spiral Optimization Algorithm with Clustering
Professor Kuntjoro Adji Sidarto (ITB Indonesia)
Abstract: Developed by Tamura and Yasuda in 2010, Spiral Optimization Algorithm (SOA) is a metaheuristic method for finding numerical solutions to optimization problems. We improved the optimization capability of the algorithm by adding the Clustering scheme, so it can find local and global optimums. The method has performed very well in solving many problems, including real-world problems, finding real and complex roots, and Diophantine equations.

ITB Mathematics Distinguished Lecture Series
Series comments: We aim to bring prominent mathematicians exploring the role of mathematics from various fields, in an intriguing style. The online lectures address quite broad audience, from mathematics students (advanced undergraduate to graduate ones), as well as mathematicians in Indonesia, and our neighboring countries, or even beyond our region. With this lecture series we hope to foster and promote research culture, as well as to highlight the prominent role of mathematics in shaping future society.
